Relationships, Spiritual Practices

“Christian community exists when believers connect with each other in authentic and loving ways that encourage growth in Christ. They engage in transparent relationships that cultivate, celebrate and make evident Christ’s love for all the world.” – Adele Calhoun (Spiritual Disciplines Handbook)

Here are some suggestions for practicing community this week:

  • Plan to host a simple meal with a few friends in the next couple of weeks. As you gather, listen well to each other, ask questions and encourage each other.
  • Life groups at Blackhawk take a break for the summer, but they resume in September, and you will have the opportunity to sign up for one beginning in August. There are groups for all ages and stages of life, and they meet (usually weekly) to discuss the Bible and help each other grow. If you haven’t participated in a group before, consider taking that step this year when groups start up again.
  • Sign up to join a serving team!
